Our Fall Book Fair went great!! We exceeded our goal with how many books we sold. We raised a little over $100 for All For Books, which we used to buy more books for our library. Scholastic also donated 1 book for each dollar to a charity for kids.
Here are a few pictures from Family Night!
Our vision is to promote reading for enjoyment with students and their families, ensure students and staff are effective users of information, and empower students to become lifelong learners with 21st century skills.

Coins for Coats
This year's Coins for Coats drive kicked off today and will run until October 29th! Last year we raised almost $1,200 at Union Hill! All of the money we raise will be used to purchase new coats for students in need in our Round Rock community.
Bring in coins or dollars to donate to your class cup. The class that donates the most cups of coins will get gift certificates to our November Book Fair.

Don Tate Visits Union Hill
On Thursday, Don Tate (author and illustrator) came to visit with 3rd-5th graders. We had so much fun learning about both the writing and illustrating process. It was amazing to watch him in action as he sketched some of our students! If you want to learn more about Don Tate, visit his website: www.DonTate.com

Not sure what to read next?
Take a look at our new display case outside of the library! Several of our teachers filled out a survey with up to 4 of their favorite books (it's so hard to choose only 4!) We've displayed their results- but only with books that we have at our Union Hill Library. We can't wait to see what you choose to try!

Book People's Book Trailers
The library's "Book People" are an after school enrichment group who have one major thing in common... they LOVE books! They worked in small groups (or individually) to create a book trailer for a book they've enjoyed. Check them out!

Welcome Back!
Welcome back for another great year at Union Hill! We look forward to seeing everyone in the library this week. The focus for this week is to get all of our students a new photo ID! Teachers will be bringing classes in to get their photos taken and cards printed. Students, please remember that your ID card will follow you to 5th grade. You need to take care of it because if you loose or damage it, you will have to pay $5 for a new one. Here is a sneak peak of the new ID cards!
The highlighted number indicates the year you graduate! Each grade level is highlighted the same color.

That means all items have been turned in, and any outstanding bills have been taken care of. We'll be giving away some great prizes, so be sure to get everything turned in on Friday!
